GetRad presents: Wooden Spoon mak'n workshop Sat April 20th
Thanks to everyone who came and participated in the carving knife demo, it was a great time to learn from each other and share ideas. This months GetRad workshop series will be taking that carving knife and applying some old fashioned techniques of spoon mak'n, the workshop will provide a tulip poplar spoon blank for every participant and each participant should bring a sharp knife to use. We will be going through this spoon making demo to learn and watch how to fashion a very useful utensil using hand tools and native wood. CSA update -- Life in Mudville
We aren't letting the wet weather get us down, it dried out enough on Thursday to swoop in and do some bed building to keep up with schedule. Also we are planting some things in the greenhouse that we might have direct seeded since it is a bit cold out at night for some seeds to germinate. Still, we may not start until the 18th of April or even a week later if it doesn't warm up a bit in a week or so!
We got our seeds, onion plants, and potatoes ready, and are on schedule with our soil work...now all we have to do it wait a week or so for the weather to break.
We still have CSA shares left! Check out our website at circleacres.info/coop or email getradcircleacres@gmail.com for more info!

Here's some parts of a electric-assisted solar dehydrator that Kat is building:
The quince tree and some of our daffodils were already in bloom when it snowed the other day....
And brother found a new bowling ball.

Get RAD in March!
Welcome back, GET RAD!
We are excited to offer another season of the Get Rad workshop series here at Circle Acres. This will be the second year of these Get Rad workshops. Last year was a success, we offered a wide variety of workshops (potting soil, mushroom inoculation, the building weekend), and we had a tremendous amount of fun working and learning from each other. The potluck and music afterwards was just as rewarding as the joy of people joining us to create a safe space for learning information and sharing skills with each other in harmony with nature.
This season of the get rad workshop series will start on Saturday, March 23rd. And will happen on the third or fourth Saturday monthly.
getRAD March 23rd! DIY Knife Demo

The first workshop of the season is a demonstration of how to make your own carving knife. Tenderfoot will show you each step of how to make your own old time carving knife incorporating locally harvested and salvaged materials and some good old twisted DIY mentality. This style carving knife will be a sharp addition to any wood shop or crafter’s kit, as it easily gets and keeps its edge.
